I am confused about fleece. Can it be used as an outer layer in cover or AIO and what type works best? I thought I saw someone had some from Joanns. TIA!

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

I've read that it can be used as outer layer for cover, in AIO, and in pockets. I've also made some pockets, too, with fleece but haven't actually used them yet (no baby yet . . . unfortunately). I've read that the BEST kind to use is Malden Mills 200 wt I think windpro or something like that (basically Malden Mills). But I've also read of people using polar fleece, no pill fleece(from Joanns), and alpine fleece(from Joanns) with success. However, I've also read that there can be some problems with wicking through clothing if diaper is compressed for too long with these fleeces (such as long car trips, for example). But I've also heard that using two layers of the fleece can eliminate this. Now, all that being said, that's all stuff that I've READ. None of that is actual personal experience. But basically, fleece can pretty much be used, just be careful of what kind and when you will be using it (probably not a good idea for long trips). HTH and wasn't too confusing!

I was just as confused as you with fleece up until about a week ago. then i made some AIO's and pockets with outer of JA no pill fleece, and some w/ JA alpine fleece. i used double layers, my son is a SUPER soaker, and he can go a good 4 hrs in one of these without it leaking. and it has actually never leaked, i can just tell its soaked by then and change him. i have heard too that fleece can wick if compressed like sitting for long periods of time, so i will just use different dipes if we are in the car for a long period of time. i LOVE the AIO's w/ fleece outers they are super soft and breathable.
Cool, thank you! I bought some wool/poly felt today from Joanns, I'm interested to see what it does (and how I'm going to have to wash it!
Oh wait, one more thing, did you still have to put a waterproof layer in your diaps with felt?
