Make sure it's not fiberglass! My mom made that mistake with some used curtains once.

Ah! I can't find it. It's really bugging me, too. There is a pattern for a backpack in there that I am planning on making for my nephew's graduation. When I come across it - I'll post the info.

oh nice. they use fiberglass in curtains? its 100% cotton according to the tag from pottery barn - and other ones are 100% linen. will it actually say fiberglass?

thanks colorado mama!! hehe - it was so much fun - i love design. I'm hoping someday to make my own patterns to sell...

oh and about the curtains - i have no idea if they will actually say fiberglass - i really hope so - i have 3 GORGEOUS sheer curtains i want to use for dresses - i checked the tags and they say they're poly but i'm almost afraid to use them

Wonderful work.

If in doubt about the fabric content of curtains, you can do a burn test. Fiberglas will not burn or melt, at all. Wish I knew this before I made the pretty pink princess dress for the little girl I babysat for when I was a teen!

Thanks for posting that article. I love the dress you made and the material.
Thrift store shopping is one of my favorite ways to get cool fabric and buttons.
