GBS positive

Anyone else out there test positive? Ugh, I'm so bummed. Why, why, why??? What can I do to kick this stuff? Will it ever go away? I have 2 other children and have never tested positive. I always wipe front to back and try to be careful, how did I get it????

GBS is normal flora that lives in the colon. Just about everyone has it. It can also come & go, which is probably why you never tested + before. You can lower your flora or colony counts with raw garlic & probiotics. I can not think of a site off the top of my head with info. I am sure others here may have one.

Positive here too
I was positive last time too, so I was kinda expecting it. What sucks, and what my OB confirmed, is that hospitals refuse to test at the time of delivery, so we could be negative at labour and be given ABX for no reason.

Yep, I tested positive for GBS too. Doing the garlic thing. (check out Judy Slome's article on midwiferytoday.com) My mom also suggests wheatgrass drink which I'm hoping to try. I've got 10 or so days to do this thing and at the end will have them retest me. I'll be 39 1/2 weeks then, so as long as I'm not in labor they should let me.... anyway the why on the wheatgrass: it cured herpes in a friend of my mom's! she got retested before her baby was born and doesn't have a trace of the STD anymore! cool, huh. best of luck. and wish me the same.

I just had my test on Wednesday. The results *might* be back today but probably not until Monday. I'm SO hoping it isn't positive.

Can anyone explain the risk to the baby for me if I do go with the antibiotics? Also, with the garlic treatment, how do you thread it properly? How many nights do you do this?
