So cool! We are in love with these things. My friend/chiropractor found them online.
Thanks Carolin!

I was a little worried they would be dangerous, but they aren't any more so than regular straws. love 'em. A little more help towards the "plastic-free" house.

There was someone on MDC a bit ago looking for stainless drinking glasses. I see some listed at the bottom of that page! I hope she sees this thread!

Awesome! I am the one who has been searching for the cups forever. I've had the straws for a while now (purchased from a different site) and I can definitely recommend them! Just be sure to wash them out pretty soon after you finish using them if you drink something like milk out of them. They can be hard to clean if it gets all dried in there.

We have a very fine cleaning brush, long, that came with some appliance. It is the perfect fit to go all the way inside the straws for cleaning. I wish I knew where to buy them separately.

Is there any other option? I am allergic to nickely, so stainless steel is out for me.

Have you tried the "Sigg" bottles? www.sigg.ch

You can buy the cleaning brushes for Dr. Brown's bottles. They fit the straws inside the bottles, so they should fit in these (although they might not be long enough).

why couldn't you just use pipe cleaners?

That would be my worry as well. How are they less dangerous than, say, a silicone straw? My big concern with kids and straws is that they'll jab the roof of their mouth, their soft palate, or the back of their throat. The stainless steel straws look like something I'd only want the adults to use out of worry about a kid impaling himself on one.

I was referring more to the normal plastic straws that come in 50 packs and such, not the softer rounded silicone ones that come with reusable drink containers.

I bought some of the stainless steel straws a while back from grilllovers.com Unfortunately didn't get the brushes to clean them and haven't been dilligent about rinsing them right out. Well, it appears they aren't carrying either straws or brushes anymore. Any ideas???

The only place I could ever find the "straw cleaning brushes" is on ebay.

I have this one and it's great.

This is the other one I see over there.

You can get the straws on amazon.
