please help

he im new here i was wondering if someone could help me out
i got tested for pcos and everything was fine
but want i wanted to no is i had my blood test for this about 4-5 weeks after i came of birthcontrol
even though i had my blood test 5-6 weeks after coming of bc would the results still be accurate

Why did you have blood work done for PCOS right after getting off bc if you dont mind me asking? MOst dr.s dont do any type of fertility work up until you have been trying for 6 months or more or if you have been having reoccuring irregular cycles. I would say only beign off bc for 5-6 weeks that it probably isnt accurate since bc pills can stay in your system for up to 6 months and the depo shot fro up to 18 months.

There are a lot of hormone levels to consider when diagnosing pcos which most doctors don't bother to look at. I highly recommend Dr. Elizabeth Lee Vliet's book "It's My Ovaries, Stupid!" and/or "Screaming to Be Heard: hormone connections women suspect but doctors still ignore." It'll give you a good bit of information, and will give you lists of what to test for to bring up with your doctor.

I don't know how bc can affect results since my diagnosis came years after we started ttc, but maybe someone else on this board can offer suggestions.

It depends on what kind of b/c you were on and on what cycle day you had the tests.

Is there any reason why your dr suspected pcos?

he suggested the tests as before i was on birth control i had irregular periods
i fell pregnant with my son on bc
well i supose i will have to just wait for af tocome arggg
I had tests hormone tests wheni was like 17 as well and they were fine
