There's something going on a Michael's called Warm Up America Joining Party Feb 23-24. Knitted & crocheted squares will be joined to be made into bankets to be given to the less fortunate. Check out:

the michaels here does joining parties at least once a month. they also have a bin where you can just drop off squares to be joined, or completed blankets. pretty cool, huh?
