Got almost all my dyeing questions (silks, UBCPF) answered... but (xpost)

...I have a few more that I KNOW you all can help me with.

I have a total of 4 dozen UBCPF (half infant sized, half regular sized), and will be getting several silks to dye also. Everything I've read on the boards speaks highly of the dyes from Dharma Trading, so I'm thinking of this kit, which says it'll tie dye about 20 T-shirts. Well I have neither "20" nor "t-shirts" so I am not sure how much of the dyes, chemicals, etc I will need.

- I have heard that a little dye will go a long way, and also that I really only need a few basic colors then can mix them up to get more colors. Are the yellow, fuschia, and turquoise in this kit good blending colors or should I get something that is more of a "straight" red and "straight" blue?

- How much extra synthrapol, soda ash, etc should I get for what I want to dye? (How many post-dye washes w/ the synthrapol do I need to do?)

- Once I mix up some dyes from powder to liquid, are they good for a while? (i.e. could I do a little dying one day and then on another day do some more w/o having to re-mix fresh dyes?)

- For the colors, I'm thinking of making a few "big" squeezy bottles with basic colors that I'll keep for a while, then several smaller bottles of "specialty" colors that I'll mix from my basic ones... but when I want to re-use those smaller bottles, then I should be able to wash them with synthrapol and be good to use a different color, right? Or is synthrapol just for fabric?

- How would I fold/scrunch/whatever a silk so that when I dye it, it would have a spiral-ish color pattern?

I think that's all my questions... I'm ordering the stuff today so any quick replies would be appreciated. And I will of course post pictures when I'm done. Thanks.

I bought my kit from this guy:
http://tiedyekits.silentpulseinstrum.../tdkindex.html

It includes everything you'll need and is very inexpensive! I just bought a bottle of snythrapol and was good to go His kits come with little ziplocs for the colors and I use them as applicators, but you could also use squeeze bottles, etc. When I used bottles, the dye easily rinsed out of them to use for a different color because the dyes are fiber-reactive and do not adhere to the inside of the plastic bottle.
