I was a lucky one! On April 1, 2003 I had my first contraction at 10:47 pm. Immediately, my dh called our midwife and she told us to call her back when the contractions were every 5 minutes for an hour. Well exactly one hour later, my contractions were every two to three minutes and my body was determined to push! Needless to say, our midwife was on her way. At 2:10 am on April 2nd, Jasmine was on my chest! She was 7lb 10oz and 21 1/2 inches long. Our homebirth was fast and intense and the most beautiful experience! Breastfeeding came just as naturally for both of us! Jasmine latched on perfectly and has not stopped since! She is now two months old and close to 12 lbs! I love motherhood!

Sounds like you were lucky! I have heard that luck is when preparation meets opportunity and you were prepared with a midwife and homebirth, so it's fitting that you had such a wonderful experience. Congrats!
