An interesting development

I don't know if any of you have been following the WI law lately, but a The Right to Breastfeed Act has come up for hearing by the Committee on Health and Health Care Reform, and the Committee Chairperson, Rep Leah Vukmir, was saying that this legislation was "unneccessary." (Current WI law states that bfing women are exempt from public indecency, but that's it, and it's been on the books since 1996.) Well, turns out, someone found out that Abbott Labs (Similac) donated money to her campaign fund. Interesting, no?

Why am I not surprised? :

What pisses me off is this ONE woman, because she's committee chairperson can kill the bill, even though the majority of the state reps are in support of it AND it has bipartisan support.

That's sickening. OMG, I am so outraged. When will people realize the menace of formula companies? They evidently didn't learn anything from the tobacco companies mistakes!

It's being verified, but records are showing that Abbott Labs gave Leah Vukmir a $500 donation for her campaign in 2006. If she is selling out bfing moms, it sucks that she did it for such a small amount!
