HELP! Racoons ate my birthing pool!

I got up this am to find that racoons destroyed my Aquarium fishy pool! I had inflated it, ready to go for birthing, now it's got holes from these *^*$% racoons climbing all over it.
My due date is coming up and I hate the smell of vinyl, so I had aired it out over the last month.

What can I do????

well

maybe the good news is that you will probably go into labor now
I wonder if you go to your tribe area and make a plea there could be someone in your area that has one.
btw, I also hate the smell of vinyl and could see myself in your same situation!

Here's an idea, if you have a feed store or something like it available in your area - http://www.mothering.com/discussions...d.php?t=641024

Then again, you might be able to find a fishy pool in a store at this time of year, they're starting to stock summer stuff, but you might not have time to air it out much before the birth.

I would try to get another one ASAP and just air it out as best you can (inside, or at least a garage). Um, and make sure you put this in the baby book or birth story - it's pretty priceless, I must say : I mean, how many posts have you seen about wild animals tearing up the pool...

I know it's kinda weird. I live in SF, but inside a National Park with Coyotes, Racoons, Hawks, Owls, etc. I've always had a feeling that I need to be careful with that fishy pool outside, but my dd and I tested it out last week and then i just left it there, it was drained. Normally I have it tured over and tucked in a corner, but in the last two days I had it just sitting there.
I feel depressed today because of this. I had gotten it online, but if I get another one, it will be so stinky and this one just finished airing out, it took over 3 weeks. Overnight shipping is over $58!! And my due date is this week.
The horse trough is funny idea! I've worked with horses since I was 9. But I don't think I can get into birthing in a trough

A place here in SF has the blue La Bassine, it's alomost the same price as the cheap fishy pool with shipping. Regular shipping (5-10 biz days) would be silly if I go into labor in the next day or so.
I wonder if PVC outgasses as much as Vinyl?

Not from your ddc but maybe you could put a plastic liner in the pool to keep the smell down. I am lending my birth pool out and my friend is going to use the plastic you put down for painting. Good luck!!!!!!
