Cottage Cheese Okay for 10month old?

Thread Starter
I was just wondering if cottage cheese was an okay food for babies? My son is ten months old and has yogurt and cheese without any problems, however his Ped advised against starting milk or eggs before one year. I am trying to find more variety of healthy table foods that he can eat. Does anyone else have any other suggestions other than veggies?
Thanks!

I've heard no cheese at all before one year. But if your ds is already eating cheese, then I don't see why cottage cheese would be bad. . . But that's just a guess. Have you tried tofu? Babies usually love tofu. I would get the extra-firm kind, and just cut it up into little cubes right out of the container (no need to cook it). It's a great finger-food, your baby will be able to feed it to himself.

Happy eating!

When Henry was 10 months old, I gave him some fruit salad that had cottage cheese in it.

Poor little guy ended up with hives all over his legs (no diarrehea though, thank goodness)

Now I'm going to wait until he's 15 months or so before trying milk or cottage cheese.

He eats shredded cheddar with no problem, but that's probably made with more oil than milk. He also eats Yo Baby yogurt with no problem.

I assume you're doing fruits? how about beans, lentils? Grains? Pasta? Meats, fish?
