How many layers needed for a printed PUL cover?

One more question on PUL...I'm expecting my baby in June and just starting on cd-ing. I am planning to make covers from PUL and use some fitteds and prefolds (not knowing size--& I tend to have big babies, ect.)

When using printed PUL is it necessary to use multiple layers for covers? The lamination is on the wrongside of fabric, does one normally line the inside of a cover, too? TIA.

Some people line then, some don't. I don't. I think it holds smells less and you can just wipe the pee out that way (and sometimess poo too if it's not on the binding. If you do line it you'll want to use 100% polyester (microfleece and suedecloth are good options). So basically, it's up to you! One layer of PUL is fine

Thanks, if single layer will work I'm in!! I found the sticky on PUL one layer covers w/FOE and it was super quick...just have to perfect the FOE, now!

I'm not an expert on making covers but one consideration is the thicker or more layers you have the harder it may be to apply the foldover elastic. I am making mine with one layer of print fabric and one layer of white pul. I am very happy with the results and find them much nicer and cheaper than the sotre bought ones I have bought in the past. Keep the shiny side in, it is the side you see on the inside of the cover, does that make sense?
