making wool shorties from old sweaters

Are there instructions somewhere for doing this? I would love to recycle some wool sweaters and do this!

I have OK sewing and knitting skills- definitely not an expert but I know the basics. Does anyone know how difficult it is? It seems like you use the cuffs and hem from the original sweater to do the edges of the shorties.

This pattern is the BEST! I made the crotch a tad bit narrower. My ds has been wearing his fleece (made from one layer of joann's) pairs from 15 months until 28 months, and still going strong! I also have a pair of cashmere ones that are the ultimate covers and so soft, and I did use the waist of the sweater for the legs and waist of the shorts. I can send you pics if you wish.
