I think you can find patterns at http://www.sleepingbaby.net for different carriers, and for sure at http://www.mamatoto.org

Where did you get your rings ? Do they sell in the B&M store ?
Or is it just online thing ?

Slingrings.com has a large selection of rings. They've tested their rings to make sure they're strong enough for slings, unlike craft rings which can break at the weld.

rings

After checking out these links, I think I'll head out to my local tack shop (where they sell saddles & such, if you're unfamiliar with the word.) The rings there are under a dollar, and designed to endure the full force of a horse, so I'm sure they'll do - although no fancy colours.

That's a really good idea!

I used rings for every sling I made for all my friends from the horse tack section and they do work great.
Then I made a sling for a friend who wanted nylon rings.
It is SO much lighter! The aluminum rings are way lighter too.
I think in the future I'll spend the extra buck for lightweight rings.
HTH.
Slingrings.com has the best selection. They are priced in pairs.
