Improved fertility after 1st baby?

Ds is 16 months and still bfing a lot. I've been seeing wet cm for a few months off and on now, but no other signs of returning fertility. Since my cycles were very irregular before ds (about 3 months long) I have been expecting a long wait for my normally dodgy af.

So yesterday my nipples got REALLY sore and my whole uterine area felt really tender. Then I go to the bathroom in the evening and there is a HUGE amount of really stretchy ewcm hanging from me! This is the first time I've EVER seen this kind of ewcm (aside from the pictures in tcoyf). I didn't even really have ewcm when we conceived ds. So I felt my cervix and I could practically stick my whole finger inside of it. I'm not sure what it's supposed to feel like normally, though. Since ds it always feels pretty high and soft to me.

Has anyone here experienced improved fertility after their first baby? Like more regular cycles or more ewcm? Can anyone think of a reason that might happen?

Yes to everything! We tried for three years to have kids before I had my first. And now look, boom, boom, boom, all in a row, we are using NFP right now, and I definitly know I've had fertile cycles for a long while now.

Both times I got pg pretty easily when I was ready to. So not much difference for me. But I have heard a lot of stories where people that had struggled with infertility got a "surprise" pregnancy again soon after the first was born.

Three and a half years to TTC DD; including attempts at IVF. Only 10mos TTC this baby. So I would say, in my case, yes!
I think it may have something to do with the fact that the first pg knocked out the endo enough to where conditions were favorable for baby #2.
