I want to submit my respect and my admiration to you.
When I first read here, I was really shocked cause I did not know about circumcision. Well, think I heard about it anytime but did not give some thought to it.
I joined MDC some weeks before, and was curious about this sub...after investigating I had to look at my little boy and was so indescribably glad that he is intact and so are all tiny baby boys here...
It really makes me cry.
I hope you will make many many people think about not to circ!!!

Welcome!

: Hallo Lotta!
Ist es nicht schrecklich?
I'm also in Germany (I'm Venezuelan, my husband German) and my kids are also (of course!) intact - as are all their friends.

I was also surprised and only learned about this when my best friend and I were both expecting our second sons. She lives in NY and we met in Florida that summer. The kids went swimming together and then we bathed them. When I saw that her then-4-year-old son was circumcised, it looked SO WRONG that I immediately started doing lots of research to convince her to leave the next one alone - she didn't

I have not been able to let go of this subject. It's a horrendous human rights violation - apart from being a completely stupid thing to do (speaking from the perspective of an intact culture)

After learning about how things work in USA and the pressure to circumcise coming from so many different directions, I was SO GREATFUL that it's a complete non-issue here in Germany and that the whole birthing process (even in hospitals) is so mom- baby- and breastfeeding-friendly.

Welcome to MDC and to CAC. Please stick around. It's important to give our perspective, so that parents contemplating that decision realize that intact IS THE NORM in most civilized places of the planet.

I hope that one day intact is the norm here in the USA, but I don't see it happening anytime soon.

I'm so glad I found out the truth before my lil man was born.

Hallo Lotta!

Noch ein aus Deutschland!

Yes, we fortunately don't have RIC here (even though there sometimes are rumours about hospitals perfoming it, probably in cities/regions with US military). But the situation with circumcisions for "phimosis" in 2, 3, 4, 5 year old boys is horrible.

Check out www.phimose-info.de if you're interested in German intactivists' work.

Welcome from me, too.

When I joined this forum two years ago, I thought I knew a lot about the subject of circ. I had been standing up for baby boys in my midwifery practise for 26 years and doing lots of educating.

I have learned so much from participating here that I didn't know---I didn't
know that there was a restoring community, I didn't know the anatomy of the
male penis, I had never heard of meatal stenosis. . . the list goes on and on.

I, too, am so grateful to all the people who patiently post here in order to teach others what they know. I hope that I'm able to give back a little of what I've received. As we often say here, "Circumcision---the more you know, the worse it is."

If you really want to start your education with an amazing online video of the importance of the foreskin (prepuce), go to these links:
