Is a compression stripe always a bad thing?

So we manged to go from 1oz per feeding to 3-4oz per feeding which is fantastic! Only problem is now I've got a compression strip and minor pain when she's nursing. I do try to get a deep latch but its not working to well and even when we do she either pushes the breast out to a shallow latch or she slips down due to a weak/poor suck from hypotonia. She's 10 months and won't allow you to put fingers in her mouth and doesn't suck on anything else either so suck training is out. I'm guessing she's compressing to slow down the flow since she's gulping milk now and coughs and sputters a couple times each feeding.

I don't know what a compression stripe is, nor do I know your situation. I'm imagining that you are using an SNS/lact aid. They do make different size tubing that may help your dd to get less while nursing.

They do make different size tubing but I'm not using an SNS, she's just finally able to get the milk out when I changed her nursing position which changed her latch.
