It takes me about 3 months to finally ovulate. After that point, things are great- strong LP, normal AF, etc. But it's just the waiting to O that sucks. Is there any way to try to get my body to O sooner?

I had cycles that were about 6 months long. I shortened them to 3 months by changing my diet. I cut out dairy, refined sugar and flour (for the most part) and caffiene (aside from chocolate once in awhile). They might have continued to improve, but I got pregnant 2 cycles later and my periods haven't returned yet, so I can't tell you. I've also heard that Vitex works for some.

You might want to get your thyroid checked out. Long cycles are typical of hypothyroidism. You'd be surprised to know how common an underactive thyroid is--especially in women who have had children. Just something to look into. If you are hypo, it is fairly easy to treat (I say "fairly" because there's always the small percentage of people who need a bit more attention; generally, taking a thyroid replacement med will do the trick.), and treatment will definitely improve your cycles/fertility.
I was diagnosed about 10 years ago and feel like it's my responsibility to tell everyone I know.
Good luck to you!

I've had my thyroid checked, though- everything is fine.
My long cycles are due to nursing.

i second the vitex. i used it for one cycle and on that same cycle i O'd on cd 19 and also got pg with my dd after ttc forever! i used the liqiud vitex and mixed it in with my 2-3 cups of green tea that i did until i o'd. i have heard of a lot of women who got pg using the vitex. sometimes though it can take up to six months for u to see results. i am not sure if you can take it while nursing so u might want to look that up.
i always wanted to try fertility blend when i was ttc but i was too scared it wouldnt work and i'd be out that money, i couldnt find enough positive reviews on it at the time. im glad it seems to be working out with your friend.
