Smegma Pearl?

Allright, this is one of those TMI posts - but it really has me scratching my head.

I've always always left DSs penis alone - as well, there is no reason to do otherwise.
The last few days he has been absolutely refusing to let us put diapers on him - I checked for irritation of some kind (there was none, no redness anywhere.)
But! There was this tiny almost swollen area under the skin. It wouldn't really move when pushed - and its about the size of half a pea.

I'm not worried.

But, is this a smegma pearl?
Or what could it be?

Also - at this point, I think we're going to start ECing. He HATES diapers.
Cloth, disposable, you name it - he hates it.

Most likely a smegma pearl. My older son (now 23!) got a lump under his foreskin at about age 1. It gradually increased in size over time to where the foreskin looked quite lop-sided. Then when he was three it spontaneously discharged from the opening of the foreskin as about a 1/4 tsp. of pasty-dry whitish odorless material. End of story. As your son's foreskin continues to separate, eventually a path will develop to the opening from underneath, and it will work its way out. Not to worry.

The body is so odd.

Thanks ladies, just needed a bit of reassurance. Wouldn't like to show it to his doc, for fear of retraction.

sounds like it. My ds,who's 4,had the same thing happen when he was 2 or 3,and it went away in a few days,if I recall correctly.

Without those TMI posts I would not know what to expect with my son. Thank you for being forthcoming.
