I keep buying markers for my son thats what he enjoys coloring with best.
I am trying to find a good set for easter.
Anyone have a set they really like?

Also anyone like the beeswax crayons?
Are they worth the money?
Thank you!

markers-anything washable! Crayola is our favorite, the cheaper ones don't tend to last as long

The twist up crayons are nice from Crayola-less breakage

I really like the washable crayola pipsqueaks for my five year old. The size seems to really improve her ability to handle them.

Yep we just got the crayola pipsqueaks and ds really likes them.

DD loves the wax crayons. I found triangle ones at Lakeshore for three dollars. They aren't beeswax but they are wax and very pretty. My dd uses them all the time.

For markers, we prefer Crayola washable.

My boys like to have a variety, but the favorite that they both seem to prefer regularly are the Lyra colored pencils. They lead is sturdy, yet soft enough to blend nicely and make nice bright colors. They don't like the cheaper brands of colored pencils, but they *love* the Lyras.

The beeswax crayons don't get as much use around here. Occasionally my older son will go get the blocks when he wants to fill in a large area of color, but they're not their favorites. I love them, they feel and smell so nice *lol*

We use Crayola as well, and like a pp mentioned, we stocked up like crazy at Back to School time (with markers, crayons, clue sticks, everything really, it was so much fun...). We have a big variety of shapes and colors - we have the pipsqueaks, and fat and skinny markers (not the really fine line ones, but skinnier than the fat ones).

I don't like my kids to have markers at all- we've got plenty of colored pencils and crayons though, so they're not limited in their creativity!

Reasons against markers:

1) They draw too easily on furniture and skin

2) they're full of the same artificial colors that we avoid in foods, lotions, soaps, household products, etc. My kids DO react to colors absorbed through the skin.

Not a single one of my children, at age 4, was capable of ONLY drawing on paper. Inevitably some ink would end up on sheets, carpets, walls, etc.

If you *only* bought the beeswax they'd be worth it. But, my kids prefer the crayola crayons to them. They are easier to use (in their experience...yep, they both told me so ).

MIL got my ds some cool new pins that twist open and closed so they don't get caught without their tops on. Just have to remember to twist them closed. I think they are Crayola.

I prefer crayons to markers, but my kids have both. When they draw on other surfaces, we work together to clean up. It can be a pain to get marker off of the couch, but it shows them there is good reason to draw on their given surfaces instead...less work to clean up.

My son has sensory issues and will not use crayons for some reason.. I dont think he likes the feeling of them.. I dont know? Luckily he does stay on the paper, he does not like things "messy".

The twistable markers sound awesome, we have a major cap problem around here. I think they will work perfect.

Thanks for all the ideas!
