Ya, like the stack of $5 bills I found on my table, oddly enough they all had a blank, white back and raggedy edges.

Library card (free, and no fines in our town!) Library card to neighboring county library (also free) which offers rosetta Stone for free (now if only I could find the library card again!)
Science center and zoo memberships. Since we are about halfway between POrtland and Seattle and they are good at both, these have come in really handy. It is so nice to be able able to go to the city and have a no cost destination
Minivan and gas to take us to the park, to the city, to the art and the music museums on free nights, to the beach
computer and internet connection
dvd/vcr player
legos
knex
books

Is that the one by Sarah Ellis, subtitled "Teaching Writing Through Children's Literature"?

For us, it was the "Monster Clubhouse" from Rainbow playsystems ... it was definitely an "investment" that will be used for over the next 10 years ... it's like having a playground/park structure in the backyard for the kids. Heck, I love sitting out there in the hammock swing with the baby while the big boys play. Seriously, it was a 1 1/2 year experience in making a decision, and has become one of the best purchases ever.

Well we already had computers and high speed internet for both of the boys before we started hsing. The best purchase since beginning hsing would definately be our Science Center pass.
