I don't know exactly why it make me feel uncomfortable, but I consider myself to be a rather open minded accepting person. I have no problems at all with this mother nursing an 8 year, but I can tell you that I wouldn't be able to nurse that long. I don't know what my cut off age is, 4? 5? I can't see going past 5, I think it may be 4, but who knows! By the time they are 4 they are old enough to fully understand weaning, and be active in that process. I wouldn't tell my DS that he can no longer nurse after X date, but I would try and talk to him about it.
