very nice links! i wanted to make a baby hammock before rowan was born, but i didn't get the one i was thinking of done. i was going to do something similar to the last tutorial that someone posted. i was looking at getting a hanging chair stand to hang it from too, but those were pretty expensive i found, and i couldn't think of where else to hang it up in the house. i'm wary to just go digging for studs in the ceiling! i know the older kids would be hanging from it and bouncing around too.
what i did instead was super simple and took me all of 2 minutes. i got 2 yards of cotton fabric and sewed the ends together into a loop. i then placed it in the pack n play that someone gave us. i put the ends of the fabric around the bars that snap in and out that would normally hold up the upper level. he hasn't slept in it too much yet, but i think it's pretty cool.

i put him in the outside hammocks when i need to set him down when i'm outside too.
some day i plan on putting up hammocks in the house, but i want to figure out a really safe way to attach it to the wall or ceiling. growing up we always had hammocks and swings all over our house and my kids love them so much i want to put some up for them too. i guess i could just try to find the beams in the ceiling and put in some heavy duty eye screws.
i got all jealous the other day when i was looking across the street at our neighbors house(they are vietnamese, i believe) and they had the window open and i saw they had this great huge hammock in their living room! so cool.
