Clomid dosage, 50mg vs. 100mg?

My RE just switched me from 50 mg to 100 mg of Clomid for my next cycle.

My first cycle on Clomid I conceived on 50mg and then miscarried at 7 weeks. Now for my next cycle he wants me on 100mg.

Any ideas why he would up my dosage when I responded somewhat well on 50 mg?

Also, I responded real well to 50 mg and had 4 good sized eggs at my pre-IUI ultrasound. Will 100 mg mean that I could produce even more eggs and the chances of twins could be higher?

Yes.

If you responded to 50mg (and 4 eggs is a good response), I would really question him as to why he's upping your dosage.
