What is your fav and where do you get it?
I'm looking for alternatives to the strong and chemical products that you find on the market.
Thanks!

All I use on yds is water and some locally made vegetable soap for his diaper area. I don't think baby's need much more than that, maybe a little oil if their skin gets dry.

If I was going to use something else I would probably go with Aubrey Organics. They have a very solid reputation for safety and quality.

Check out www.ewg.org/skindeep - it is a databse of products and ingredients. You can look up your current products, investigate new ones, or if they don't have the specific product look up the safety of the ingredients.

Keep in mind that even if they say natural, organic, etc - most are not. Unfortunately there isn't much regulation of beauty/personal care product claims, so manufacturers can advertise their product as being one thing when it may be the opposite. Castile type soap, expellar pressed oils, essential oils, baking soda, clay - those are some of the few truly "natural" - ie not synthetic/heavily processed - products out there. Shampoos, conditioners, body washes, lotions - all of these contain ingredients that may be relatively safe but are made in a lab/factory. It is just as important to read the labels of these products as when looking for healthy food.

crap! so is Burts not good? I use three brands, either California Baby, Burts or Keihls...Keihls mainly for sunscreen but not their other products...

I love Earth Mama Angel Baby. I use this weekly and other than that use just water. It smells great and has the exact percent of organic ingredients (plus, a definition of organic) on their website. Also it's from the Northwest so that was less shipping.

Is Earth mam angel baby findable here?

I think EMAB generally sells by internet. Are you in BC? They might have it, as it's an Oregon-based company.

Here are a couple of soaps you might find suitable for sensitive baby skin:

Butterbaby and Mother & Child

The ingredients list says it all.

Do they not ship to Canada?

We use Dr. Bronner's liquid castile soap. It's a good value because it's very concentrated; 1/2 teaspoon or so will wash an entire toddler! A quart of the baby-mild version washed my son for more than a year, and then we got the almond scent so he smells yummy.

I second the California Baby line. DD has ezcema and its the only thing so far that has worked on her skin. We got an Arbonne Baby Kit for her birthday, and that stuff is great dont get me wrong; but I really cannot afford that kind of price.
