I don't think dh's cousin will be circing

dh's cousin is due with their second child, first boy. I gave them a circ book like time I was there (dr's re-examine) and the other day in email asked him about it. They live in a very high circ area (like 80%) so I was worried.
I talked about my reasoning, in one paragraph (so just the major points). He wrote back and said that was the same thing they were thinking but they had no made a final decision.

She is due in the next week or two so its coming up soon. I hope we helped reinforce their instincts.

I hope, I pray, that baby boy will be safe.

My DH's cousin and wife just left their baby intact, so maybe the same will happen in this case. The cuz asked DH his thoughts on the whole thing and he gave him the lowdown on everything from the entire history of RIC to the benefits of having a foreskin. I was so proud .

DH and I were so happy when they told us they left him intact that we almost cried. Literally. In this case, the wife wanted to circumcise- even though she completely admitted it was for cosmetic reasons and she said she knew that was a stupid reason to do it- and DH's cuz was against it. Her better logic won out, thank god. A urologist at the hospital evidently was honest about the procedure instead of giving them a "oh it's no biggie, we do it all the time, he won't even feel it" and the description was enough to tip her over to leaving well enough alone. Must be the first time in the history of RIC that a dr was honest .

Here's to hoping

I hope your dh's cousin will do the right thing! It's so hard to see babies you care about get circumcised, especially when the parents DO have the information they need to protect their sons.
