ATTENTION, please read

I want to draw your attention to a portion of our user agreement that states:

Quote:
6. Do not post to invite MDC members to other boards for adversarial purposes or post inflammatory information about MDC discussions at other boards, or about communities and discussions elsewhere, regardless of whether or not you link to that discussion or community. This is to maintain and respect the integrity of our own and other communities.
I have seen some posting that does this and I've not been able to catch it every time.

I want to explain why we have this rule and how you can post what you need to post without violating it.

We want to maintain a posting environment here that follows our guidelines. When we post about discussions elsewhere in the web, it is possible for other members to know of the discussion's location and to go there just to engage in it - often adversarially. This in turn can lead to a backlash of members from other boards coming here to post in an insincere and debating manner - which is not allowed here.

If you wish to discuss things you've come across in your life, you can simply say "I heard...." or "I had a discussion...." without saying that it came from another internet venue. If you need ideas on how to continue a discussion, simply say "I was talking with someone who said circ is cleaner....how do I explain that is not true?" as an example.

We are not interested in controlling where our members go on the internet. We just want to minimize the adversity and trolling here.

You are welcome to share information via PM or email amongst each other but identifying information about other internet discussion boards may not be shared on the forums.

If you have any questions, please PM me.

Thanks!
