Hello all This is my first post on the art forum and I wanted to know what you all paint with. I used to paint a bunch and I wanted to get back into it. I am really loking for some ideas on all materials so anything you got will be great
(Did I mention my 2 year old might be into the paint?)
Thanks

why not get some paints specifically for the 2 yr old that are non toxic... we love stokmar's water colors, but my dc get excited by tempera or crayola water colors, too. Then, get yourself some acrylics to work with... they much less toxic than oils and do not require ventilation like oils. I would still not let a toddler use acrylics. They should not sit on your skin and they do not wash out of clothes. Have fun!

Acrylics may be the way to go.
As for your 2 y/o...maybe stick with finger paints. I know Crayola has Washable Finger Paints.

I love my acrylics! They don't smell, they don't require a dedicated space for working, they are easy to get out and put back up quickly, and best of all- they clean up with water! I love the bright colors of acrylics, and that I don't have to do any prep work with them. Although, I will admit, I do miss the transparency of oils sometimes.

You can keep your toddler out of them (and I would strongly recommend that), but there aren't as many concerns or things to keep out of as with oil paints.
