Holy crap. I am ready to sell the kid on ebay. He has communicated in one way alllllllllllllllllllllllllll day long: WHINE. My nerves are raw and IRRITATED and I have ZERO patience left. He has been whiney whiney WHINEY all damn day long, it is grating me, I want to just lock myself in the closet and scream.

Bedtime is in 1 hour. I do believe I'll be having a cocktail after he goes to bed.

"Can you please use your nice voice? Mommy doesn't feel well today."

5 minutes later:

"Do you want to go Parcel Post or First Class? "

"Please don't whine."
"But I waaaaaaaaant to whiiiiiiiine."

-- conversational exchange that has occurred at least five times today at our house

I feel your pain. And I can't even pour myself a tall stiff drink b/c I'm pregnant.

Maybe just a little one...

Tomorrow night is the full moon. I swear it makes people crazy. I'm a home childcare provider, and this was one of the longest days of my life.

THAT'S what it is!!! I had no idea....no wonder. Yes, the full moon does indeed make people nuts, especially kids.

Mine doesn't whine much. But she has days when she starts and ends every single sentence with "MOM!". After about 15 minutes I want to start and end every sentence with &*^*(&^!!!!!!

So..when I get really close to my due date, it's okay to have one drink..right? RIGHT?!

I was talking to a guy once who let me in the secret as to why his DD whined constantly with his DW but not with him. He had one statement he told his DD - "I'm sorry, I can't hear you when you whine". Then each time she whined he either ignored it or came back with "I'm sorry, did you say something? I couldn't hear you over the whining!". Now, I've tried that, and on the average day it does do wonders, but on the days like Finch is having? Yeah, Overnight Delivery is definitely the way to go!!

yesterday was dd's birthday & she had a cold & was generally scootchy. after 2 hours of whining & kvetching, (i've been sick all week too) i told her that she could choose her birthday present....either the bike she asked for or being scootchy & whiney all day. : she really had to think about it but decided to choose the bike!

sadly, she didn't really make a clear choice as the day wore on. ugh, it was a very very long one!

Finch! did you get your cocktail?

Ahem. I live with Whiny McWhiner. I swear, I don't know what it is with this kid (who is almost never denied anything), but every question sounds like this:

Maaaaaaaama I waaaaaaaant sommmmmeeee MMMMMMIIIIILLLLLKKKKKKK!

Then if I don't hop to, he starts just making whiny noises instead of actually talking. I turn instantly into Bitchy Mom.

Yesterday he begged me not to put him down for a nap. He said it was a beautiful sunny day and he wanted to play with me. So I let him stay up. Which I deeply regretted, because once the clock hit 7 PM he was tired and started the whine cycle.

I found myself snapping, "I know you said you weren't tired, but your words and actions are telling me otherwise." I don't know why I bothered, but there you go.

I can't stand the whine.

I can SO relate right now. I've been ill all week, and dd is just coming off of it, so she has that combo thing going on (you know the "I'm getting my energy back, but I'm still miserable bit). D2 is also sick, and has been clinging like crazy. He also wants to nurse all day, every day.

I'm dead. They've dumped their toy box and their stuffy collection every day last week. DD was pulling handfuls of cutlery out of the drawer and throwing them on the floor last week. They've been playing with the printer, spilling things every other second (okay - probably not, but it sure feels that way!), etc., etc., etc. It's all I can do to hold my head together. Thankfully, my worst day (extreme sinus pain all through my face) was Saturday, so I basically said, "daddy do it" and played lump all day...except for nursing...

Oh, I'm also about 10 weeks pregnant, and not finding my first trimester fatigue to be a lot of fun right now...

And, why oh why oh why, when dd is actually tired enough to take naps most days, can't they nap at the same time????
