Science Curriculum for high school homeschooler

I am unsure of where to turn for information on science curriculums for high school homeschoolers. My son is starting 9th grade this month (yea for no school schedules, huh?) and he is going to start biology. I've only been given the name of one, called Apologia. We're Christian and I don't so much mind the program, I was looking for something not so centered around Creation.

He's also about 1/4 of the way with Algebra I, if that means anything.

Any ideas? I'm getting nervous since we want to start this fairly soon.

I just posted on this in HikeYosemite's thread about apologia "science". Here's what I wrote:

Thinkwell is a video (DVD) textbook/lecture program. We've really liked the Thinkwell DVD algebra lectures. I see on their site that they also offer science lectures on DVD (biology, chemistry, physics). You'll have to get a hard-copy biology textbook and hands-on/experiement materials separately.

There are sample lectures and more information on their site:

Another thought: some community colleges permit younger kids to take classes. At 13, your ds may be permitted to take biology there, which would give him lab experience.
