Strong Cramps, and then nothing?

Just wondering if anyone has any experience to offer...

I just had two days of strong cramps (intense tues. night, then off and on all day wed.), kept expecting AF, but nothing. We're not TTC, but I thought maybe there was a possibility this month because we didn't use anything on the 9th, and then I ovulated earlier than usual on the 12th. But I took an hpt yesterday morning (mostly because I was driving myself nuts wondering), and it was negative. I'm not really having any other obvious pregnancy signs- it just feels like my period skipped this month.

So, I'm wondering if AF is just running a little late, or did I test too soon? My two kiddos were both suprise pregnancies, and I was completely oblivious to being pregnant until I was 6 weeks along or so.

Thanks for any feedback!

If we're talking calendar days and not cycle days... are you sure you ovulated on the 12th (good temp shift, dry up and all that)? how long is your LP normally? Today is the 29th, and if you ovulated on the 12th you're on day 17 of your LP... 18 days is considered an indicator of pregnancy.

I'm pretty new to charting, but I do get discomfort on my side when I ovulate (couldn't miss it this month- it was definitely uncomfortable for several hrs on my right side on the 12th), and my temp went up the next morning. I am still getting the hang of taking my temperature (how does anyone manage to stay in bed long enough to take a temp with 2 kiddos pestering you LOL??), but there was a rise on the morning of 3/13, and it has stayed high. My LP seems to be about 16-17 days. The 2 odd things going on for me are the cramps followed by nothing (usually AF is right behind), and my cervix staying high and soft. I can generally tell every month when AF is about to arrive just by my cervix getting low and very tender by this point in my cycle- hasn't happened yet.

But, AF has tricked me before, so I guess anything is possible!

I've had an experience like your describing before (my LP was only 14 days, which is two days longer than my usual), but to be honest, if it's something that's unusual for you it might be a sign. If you have an extra test laying around, I would try testing with FMU tomorrow or the next day. Here's : for what ever outcome you're hoping for

Well, AF arrived today. Tricked again! My cycles had become much more regular over the past 6 months or so, but I think it's getting wacky again. Maybe it's a spring thing for me! Anyway, thank you for your feedback- it always helps to "talk" about it when you're not sure what's going on!
