What makes you happy?

Thread Starter
I just thought that I'd post something on here that reminds us of blessings and beautiful thoughts. Most of us are quite anxious and uncomfortable at the moment and there aren't many happy thoughts on here.

So, here goes. I am happiest when....

I can get a hot hot shower, pamper myself and then wrap up in my favorite blanket and relax on our bed. It isn't much, but it really calms my thoughts and connects me with the baby. I look forward to taking that time as often as possible and trying to not think about when this is all going to happen, which is pretty hard at times.

Sorry if this seems cheesy, but we all need to find comfort in these times and enjoy the moment whenever possible. Believe me, I am starting to get antsy, tired, grumpy and not feeling like myself, but I need to stay on track and enjoy the last few weeks.

I'm happiest when (I have a lot of these!):

I can make ds laugh so hard, he has to gasp for air!
And when he strokes my face while snuggling into me.
When he cries "bobo!" and I get to kiss it and he smiles and says "all gone!"
When dh gives me an impromptu hug with a sigh and a kiss on my neck.
When I get to curl up with a good book in some peace and quiet.
When I feel this baby move inside me and I know she's gonna be ok.

1. dark chocolate
2. laughing with my girls...all I have to say is "Giggle Free Zone" and they start laughing. Then it's contagious.
3. sitting down with my feet up and watching my belly move
4. watching the coupling season (from Britain) where the couple is pg and delivers. Again, lots of laughter.
5. snuggling with DH
6. looking at my bassinet knowing that soon there will be a little one here
7. holding my secretary's baby yesterday and knowing that soon I'll get to hold mine.

great idea! I am feeling so down and blue this a.m.

Happy Things

My kids, doing practically ANYTHING that isn't killing each other.
My dd acting like a little midwife, bringing me water- squeezing pressure points, staying up half the night with me (seriously this child is 5 going on 17)
My ds acting like a complete loon, entertaining me all the time
When dh randomly says I love you, without me saying it first.
the fact that I am off work (in home daycare) probably until after babe comes, due to having contractions-even if they haven't gotten into real labor yet, they gave me a couple days off!
Knitting, Knitting, Knitting!!!

I am happy when
DD has good days
I get my chocolate chip coffee cake from the local coffee shop
I get to see DH and spend time with him out of the nicu
I eat chocolate (it makes me feel better)
Knitting stuff for DD
I have a good pumping day

Today what made me happy was the $200 spa gift certificate DH gave me for Christmas, and the fact that I saved it this long before I used it. I went and got a facial, a mani and a pedi this afternoon and it was pure heaven. HEAVEN!

My DH makes me happy, every day.

My minpin, Daisy, does too.

  • my critters
  • not having to work
  • putting the finishing touches on our apartment
  • crossing things off my to-do list
  • waking up in the afternoon
  • that right now, for the first time all pregnancy, I have ZERO discomfort!
  • living in a veg house (other family member's cooking smells were making me miserable!)
  • organic produce delivery

Feeling my baby move and feeling thankful that she seems to be thriving

That my 2.5 y-o DD appears to have mastered the potty (before the arrival of her sister!)

Contractions because they remind me of how close we are

Watching the bond develop b/w DS and DD

That I will get to enjoy red wine, desserts and chocolate again after delivery (I have gestational diabetes)

I am happy when I feel my body getting ready to birth this baby. I'm much more aware of it this time around.

It makes me gloriously happy to hear my ds say, "I love you so much Mommy (or baby, or Daddy)".

That I'm feeling my best at 9 months.

That I'll be getting my body back in the next few months, and I'll be able to wear jeans again!

That babe will be here soon, I can't wait to see what if it's a boy or girl. I want to see if my intuition is correct.

This is good for me because I logged on to complain to y'all. LOL

I am happiest when:

I have peace and quiet
Its really windy and gray outside- but not raining yet
When I am getting a pedicure (which I am giong to do tonight)
Seeing bloody mucus on the toilet paper. This has not happened, but believe me. I am looking.

I feel happiest when...
...I get a few hours of sleep put together, or a nice nap.
...dh, dd and I go on a walk around the camp.
...I am in the bath relaxing my aches away!
...my nest is all clean and organized.
...I and dh get to go on a date, just the two of us.
...I am drinking tea.

Thank you so much for posting this thread, I am feeling so weepy, frustrated, and overwhelmed.

-Lemonade!
-How attentive and sweet dh has been, even though I know he's stressed out
-Everyone calling on the phone to check in on me
-a few more days or weeks of alone time with dh, and no cat litter changing
-baby gifts
-thinking about a baby in my arms/ in the baby sling/ in the stroller/ in the co-sleeper
-the baby's head being down and baby getting ready to be born
-nesting a little every day
-my baby's chubby cheeks (we saw on the sono)
-finding out if baby is a boy or a girl!
-thinking about summer coming and going to the lake with little one
