How long to get back to "normal"?

This may turn out to be mostly a vent, but I am actually curious....

My pelvic region is killing me, me feet are swollen, I hobble when I waddle, and the kid still hasn't even fully dropped.

How soon after she is born do the majority of pregnancy symptoms go away? I'm getting very little sleep because of the pelvic pain and can't believe that I have some sort of hope of getting more after she is born but yeesh...

It's not helping that I'm 40w5d and now all I want is a babe on the outside....

Anyhow, any kind of general "immediate" v. "a few weeks/months" info would be great, especially on the pelvic pain.

Thanks!

Not in this DDC, but my horrible pelvic pain went away immediately after birth. Not sure if that's the norm though.

My swelling was completly gone by about 10 days pp. What a relief. The pressure goes away as soon as the placenta is out. Not sure when the pelvic pain goes away though. I've had SPD for years now and for me its worse after I give birth. And you def get more sleep after the baby is born. Thats one of the hardest part for me being pg, the lack of sleep at the end. But its oh so nice to curl up with the baby and get real sleep.

SPD is alot worse after birth.. but because you do not have a huge stomach you can actually take painkillers and get some sleep!
I also find hot baths help alot.
It has taken me about 7 months to feel normal in the pelvic region after my last birth. My body is really messed up down there.
Right now I am only a week PP but I still have all the snapping and clicking going on down there and everything is just way to "loose" I cannot stand for very long.. or its painful.

I have been very bored and in bed :

My pelvic pain went away about five days after birth. Getting adjusted in the first week helped a lot, IMO.

Swelling slowly went away, though isn't completely gone (5 weeks today). I had numb fingers on my right hand, and that is mostly gone - they now feel callused rather than numb.
