"The Bachelor: Officer and A Gentleman"

Anyone going to be watching this? It starts Monday, April 2, on ABC. The new guy looks pretty yummy. They already have his photo and photos of all the bachelorettes here:

This show is an absolute train wreck, but I like it.

I have read an interview with him and he said that he is "crazy in love" with the woman he picked.
He also has an impressive resume: Naval officer, surgeon...
Seems like a real guy, not some fake royalty.

Can't wait!!!

Ok, I watched it. I usually avoid shows where women cat fight amongst themselves for a man. So not worth it. But I had to watch since he is in Hawaii where I live.

Andy is certainly very fit and attractive. He seems sweeter and more "Aww shucks" country boyish than I expected.

I couldn't even watch the muscular lawyer. Why do women not realize what they look like on tv (read: desperate!). I was pleasantly surprised that he kept some women I thought he would pass on, like Tina, who sang the National Anthem (another cringeworthy moment- I hate the talent show portion of the first episode). I was shocked however that he wasn't forced to keep Lindsey by the producers. Usually they make them keep crazy around a little longer, but I heard that Stephanie (first impression rose) will come to fulfill that role.

I too was surprised that Lindsey was let go. She seemed so volatile. Don't producers like to keep such people on reality shows because of the drama they generate?

Not many minorities in the show at all except maybe for Tessa and Tina. This is the first time I'm watching a show like this. How do they pick the women on the show? Does the bachelor tell the producers what his preferences are or is it completely up to the producers?

I don't know what he saw in Stephanie (rose recipient). Guess it must be love or first attraction - something I can't see. She didn't stand out for me. I thought she was more or less the same as the other contestants.

I read that they do. He apparently told them he liked women with Southern accents and they sure did pack it full of Southern gals. Way to represent, Blakeney! I told dh every B'ham AL girl is always going to act a fool.

Bumping.

I have to say I'm impressed with Andy for booting all the women who were causing drama.
I like him. He seems very genuine.
I was in the shower during a commercial so I missed the handing out of the roses, but I saw who he booted and I was floored. I can't believe how little powers the producers have. They must be so sad he wouldn't keep the drama queens.

He does seem genuine, but he creeps me out a little. He's a little overeager or something. I do love me a military man. Too late for dh to enlist though...

My dd: Poor poor Amber!

I think based on interviews with Chris (he said they cheered when Andy proposed) it must be Tessa. I love her!
The way Amber acted when she got the boot just proved how immature she is. I was cringing the whole time they were in here hometown.
No kidding. She really showed her age. I kept thinking she would have had a better shot if she hadn't had him meet her roommate.

I think Bevin seems unstable and I just don't have any feelings for Danielle.

Crossing my fingers for Tessa.

I also thought it was pretty inappropriate for her to take him to meet her class. Anyone else?
Joining in...

Yeah, meeting the class was weird to me to. I felt bad for Amber, not in the sense that I wanted her to be picked, but she just seems so insecure and vulnerable.

It seems like Andy is making good choices. I like Tessa the best as well. I think Bevin would be hard to live with, she seems pretty moody. I missed a bunch of last night's show, but Danielle just seems so bland.

It does seem like Andy's trying too hard to be genuine all the time. Something about how he's always moving his eyebrows in that "I'm trying to look sincere, even though I don't feel sincere" way that gives me the willies. But I like him better than any of the other bachelors they've had (I've watched probably half of them).

I surely thought that dress was inappropriate for the classroom. She had to pull it to cover her butt every time she sat down.

I read that some of the parents in her class were upset she was on the show, so I guess the kids that were there had parents that were ok with it.

Me too. I cried, but I still didn't think she should stay. She would only get more invested over time.

I'm rooting for Tessa. I was glad to see Amber go last night.

is anyone still watching this?

Tonight I really thought Andy looked upset at having to send one of the 3 home.I cannot decide who I like best for him either.Usually I have a definite girl I like best by now.
