Diva vs Mooncup (teenager?)

Does anybody own both?

Can a young teen get the hang of them? Or should I wait a few years? She is almost 15, and has only had her period for a year. But, she is ruining her panties and sheets.

If you have both, could you give me a reveiw? I have the Diva cup, and I love it. But, I am wondering if the mooncup would be better? Or just leave well enough alone for a while?

I would go with whichever one is NOT made of Latex, which is becoming a more common allergen as more and more people are exposed to it more frequently and at younger ages.

What does she think? In my experience with the kids in general, if they're icked out by it, they won't use it.

I think she is still in the icked out stage. But, I thought I would bring her along slowly... start with some longer cloth pads, then move on from there. She is probably still too young right now. But maybe in a year or two, if things haven't improved, she might want to try something else.

Have you considered natural tampons for her to try? That could be a way to get her used to that level of dealing with her own body.

I think you should be presenting her with all the possibilities and talking to her so that you Know how she's feeling about all this, rather than having any doubts.

I've found books, and there are some good ones out there, to be useful tools for these sorts of discussions.

I have tried both---and I would recommend the Mooncup for a teen. The learning curve is MUCH less with a Mooncup---it pops open easier and it does not leak. I plan on getting my daughter a Mooncup (she is almost 15) when she is ready for internal protection---which she isn't even CLOSE to being ready for yet I know exactly what you are going through with stained sheets adn undies-----I literally ordered her to use her HUGE nighttime Gladrags and changed her whole stash to Perfect Pads----and she was proud to report that these little tweaks actually worked!! I was trying to be patient---but honestly was getting tired of the mess and irritated that she was not trying to prevent leaks better :[

Good! Thanks! I am glad somebody else feels this way. I ordered some cloth pads, but, I will look at Perfect pads too.
