This is a spinoff of my own thread about going around the same time as your mother.

Ok so, again, those who went into labor naturally, did you go earlier, later, or within the same week with subsequent children?

I had ds @ 39 weeks. He was induced and I wasn't looking like I was going to go anytime soon. I remember the nurses saying I was closed up tight when I went in for the induction and they were surprised the doc was doing straight pitocin and not a cervical ripener first.

I completely realize that I could deliver way earlier than before or way after. I'm just trying to see if I can get a general trend so I can figure out when my mom should be flying out here.

My first came at 38 weeks. My second came at 30 weeks due to a placental abruption.

My first was at 41 weeks, 4 days. My second, at 40 weeks, 6 days. I voted within the same week, since the difference is only 5 days.

I voted other since I couldn't choose multiple options. My second was born at the same gestation as my first -- a little over 39 weeks. My third came at 41 weeks, and was two pounds bigger than my second!

BOTH, some earlier some later, no patterns. My first was a 30hr labor, 3 weeks prodomol and poster. baby, second was similar with a 6hr labor and birth, third was a bigger baby and 45hr labor (39weeks for all give or take), fourth was a 7lb baby and 40minute labor (from first certain contraction, no pushing at about 36weeks), fifth was about a 2hr labor and 41.5week gestation.

same, diet, lifestyle and mom...makes no difference.

It's interesting that so far almost everyone's babies came at the same time or later than their first baby. "They" always make it sound like you go earlier with each kid. Not that this poll has a huge sample yet of course.

i voted earlier by a week or more. dd1 was 11 days early. dd2 was 21 days early. we'll find out if the trend continues with dd3 sometime in june or i suppose may.

Both my boys were born exactly 10 days before their EDD.

Both my girls were born at 40 weeks 3 days.

All within the same week. 1st was born at 39.6, second at 40.1, third 39.6, fourth 40.1, all dates based on lmp. I suspect I'm a bit unusual in having them all (so far) so consistently at the same time.

That is pretty close to what happened to me too!

Dd1 and dd2 were both six days early (so, 39 weeks and 1 day).

Dd3 was eleven days late (so 41 weeks and 4 days).

I went into labor naturally with all of them. But dd3 was OP so I believe that is why she was so much later than the other two (2 weeks and 3 days later). I really think that if she'd been in a better position, she'd have been six days early too. I think all things the same, we each cook babies a certain amount of time that is right for us. Mine is 39 weeks. But dd3 was positioned incorrectly, so it threw off the time frame. That is my theory anyway! Not testing it any further though; three is enough for me!

omg I dont even want to THINK of giong as late as my mom. She says 6 weeks. I choose to not believe that. LOL

With DS1 I was induced at 38 weeks 2 days. I strongly feel he would have been well past 40 weeks.

With DD I had a c-section at 42 weeks. I believe in retrospect I was in early labor with her.

I am hoping and praying this one doesnt go as late as she did.

Well it looks like the general trend is to go around the same time or later with future babies which is really good for me because my mom insists she's not coming a day sooner than @ 39 weeks. So as much as I'm sure I'll be wanting to go into labor by that time (especially with it being 110 degrees out!!!) I have to keep my fingers crossed that this baby will stay in until at least 39 weeks 1 day. I guess it won't be the end of the world if my mom doesn't make it in time but it will be tons better if she is here.

Of course I feel like I'm tempting fate with this. If I had convinced her to come at 38 wks I would have gone to 42+ wks and now that she's coming at 39 wks I'll prob go at like 37-38 wks lol.
