Is any one planning any April Fool labor fun? I just think it would be sooooo funny to say I am having contx every 2 min. and that I am refusing to go to the hospital!!! But, I am not sure dh can handle that right now. :

My mil did that with her husband on April Fool's Day, and then she really DID go into labor later that evening, and he wouldn't believe her the second time around-- until she was in tears.

I thought about it, but my dh is so excited that I think he would be really hurt by the joke.

We'll see...

I just laughed audibly enough for my dh to hear in the other room, causing him to laugh.

Good idea...I like this suggestion.

What's ironic, is that last April fool's I played the "I'm late" joke. And, well...three months later, I was late

How evil would that be??? I love it! My dh would have to forgive since I'm so huge and miserable with the siatic (sp?) nerve thing - I need the distraction.

But then again, I worry a bit about crying wolf . . .

I was thinking about it, but now the ctx are 6 minutes apart, so it may not be a joke

I should have made a few calls at 6 am this morning--that would have been good!

I got a call at 6:45 this morning from a barely awake but quite frantic sister who kept asking, "So is it a niece or a nephew?" I just woke up and I was a bit out of it and I kind of snipped at her and told her to relax and asked her what her problem was. Then I heard my mother in the background saying, "Oh no, you didn't call her?" and then my sister got quite pissy and hung up.

I called back in a half an hour and spoke to my father who decided that waking my mom up by asking her, "didn't you hear the phone ring last night? They had the baby at 3am!" Well my mom was out of bed, into my sister's room and spreading the news and then down the steps to hit up the computer for flight tickets. The whole time my father is sitting in the kitchen drinking his coffee and cracking up. He couldn't bare to stop them until they realized that it was April fools.

I love my dad!

I had my 5 year old dd call my parents and sister and say "guess what? Mommy's having the baby now!" Then she said "april fools!" It was hilarious...everyone she called totally fell for it. My mom was proud of her granddaughter she said no one ever gets her on april fools day..lol. We had a good time!

Very cute, both of you! I just didn't have the heart. I almost called and said, "My water broke!" but was afraid he would fly into a frenzy!

funny stories!!! I don't think I could have pulled it off Plus I have to agree that DH is so nervous about missing the birth (I had to work during the afternoon/evening) that it would have been mean - he would have really worried!!
