~*~*~ *November 2006 Mamas ~*~*~ Welcome to April ~*~*~* - Page 10

Hi all! I haven't posted to this thread and haven't read all posts yet, but it's nice to see what is going on with the other Nov. babes!

Willow was born Nov.15, I see some others were born that day too She's now at 27 inches and 20lbs!

I think we're teething because she has been so fussy today, and gnawing on stuff. I have been freezing pumped milk in the ice cube tray and letting her gnaw on it in one of those mesh feeders, which she LOVES. Poor baby, she just seems miserable.

She is SCOOTING. Which I was completely unprepared for. She isn't really a good sitter yet, and for some reason i thought she would do that first. Plus, she's such a chunker, I didn't think she could move all the rolls around But, she is scooting away and I think will be actually crawling before I know it...

So much babyproofing to do! :

Our babies are growing up SO FAST... sniff sniff!

Marie1080 and baby Willow!

We're up to 95 November 2006 babes!

Can we make it to 100 before May?

Willow was born the day before my DD! How much did Willow weigh when born? My DD was 8lbs 14oz and is now around 14lbs 14oz...

I can't believe it, but I'm going back to work tomorrow . I just keep reminding myself that summer vacation's around the corner..

Logan pants near a boob too...not just mine, my friends, my husbands, LOL. She also moans loudly the entire time she nurses and when she's sleepy...DS did that when he was this age too...I find myself actually missing DS when he was a little baba.

URGH!! I just need to vent for a moment. We went to my MIL's this weekend and she gave me lots of annoying, unsolisited advice.

First, she told me that the cloth diapers are probably hurting my dd's hips and why she is not moving/rolling over.

Second, b/c dd has such a hard time sleeping she was telling me how to get her to sleep - which did NOT work and resulted in dd screaming and crying hysterically.

Lots of other crap and left me wondering if I am mothering correctly. My mother past away (it will be 13 years Monday) and I miss her and my MIL going on like she did did NOT help the situation!!

Thanks for listening to me vent.

sorry to hear it, MILs can be so awful sometimes. My MIL gave me a cloth diaper speech recently too...saying that they cause rashes and infections and are disgusting and that disposables are so much better....grrrrr. This from the woman who weaned her 2 month old baby so she could go on vacation and get away from the baby.

co-op mama, Talia snorts too!!! She does this little frantic snort when I am pulling up my shirt to feed her, it is hilarious. Usually it's when she's tired also, so she snorts, slurps and conks. It cracks me up!

Hello! Owen was due in December, but due to some severe high blood pressure/pre-eclampsia with me, he arrived on November 28th! I'm in shock that he'll be five months old on Saturday . . . where did my newborn go?!?

jchizever, hugs to you. Owen is cloth diapered, and all the grandparents have been delighted with it. He actually gets rashes and such from disposables (Pampers in particular). Owen's not moving over or rolling yet either . . . he can't stand to be lying down--with two older siblings to watch, he wants to be sitting or standing in my lap all the time . It will come in time. And after two others, I'm happy to keep him stationary as long as possible .

TwoGreenCars -- Thank you. I aim to please!

Jchizever -- I'm sorry. MILs can be a pain, and it's a shame she's not more supportive. My sister lives overseas and I never understood why she was so upset my mother couldn't come visit her and her children (she takes care of her mother and can't leave for more than a couple of days) until I had my baby and my mother's visit meant the world to me. I know there's a big difference between your mother being far away and not having one, but I can see how having a baby would make your loss more fresh.

Jodee - I've gotten the same crap form family members about DD's diapers being the cause of her not rolling over yet. Don't you just love how everyone is a specialist? Sorry your MIL is being such a pill. s to you.

So, DD has decided that co-sleeping is no longer an option for us. She just will not sleep in my bed anymore. If she feels me lying next to her she starts kicking up a storm. I've tried giving her more room. I've tried having DH sleep in the other room so it was just the two of us in bed. Nothing works. She sleeps fine there on her own (although I don't really feel comfortable putting her there for naps anymore as she is starting to roll) but as soon as I join her she gets angry and upset and will not go back to sleep. : I don't want to have to give that up yet!!!

Hey ya'll! I was in the Nov DDC, but haven't really read MDC much since Aaron was born. He was 11/01 baby, and I can't believe he's almost 6 months old! At his 4 month appt, he was 15 lbs 12 oz and 26 3/4" long, so basically a tall boy (we expect that - daddy is 6'5"). Who knows what he is now, but he's been wearing 6/9 month clothes for quite a while, and fits well in alot of 12 month stuff now.

Aaron rolls back to tummy, and has done tummy to back ONCE that I've seen, and possibly other times. But usually he just fusses on his tummy like he's stuck. He's trying to push up into crawling position and can get his shoulders quite a ways off the ground. That tummy is just too heavy though. He laughs at everything and is trying to move his tongue side-to-side when I do it - it's a hoot to watch him try! His jaw will move to the side, then his tongue will move to the side, but he's not sure about moving it back and forth.

Aaron loves to squeal in happiness and is so fun to listen to. He sleeps really well. He's been waking up once a night this week, but quickly goes back to sleep after mama milk. It's his teeth, and he's really done amazingly well. I remember Joshua waking 2-3 times a night much earlier than this, and Aaron has only very recently started to wake at all, and it's just the one time IF he wakes up. I can feel the bumps of teeth, and he's been acting like they're going to be in any day now. He opens his mouth when he sees the Hyland's Teething Tablets coming, and he doesn't push them out anymore.

We started a bit of solids the week before last. He's been reaching for our food and trying to grab my arm and bring my food to his mouth. So I shared a banana with him one day... that was a mushy mess afterwards and not very appetizing for me anymore. He's had banana about 3 times. I also gave him a big slice of cantaloupe to gnaw on, and he likes that. And today he had some pureed apple (basically homemade applesauce), which he enjoyed. I'm giving him something about every other day right now.

Aaron is still a great nurser, and very efficient like he always has been. He nurses about 6 times a day usually, and isn't really into comfort nursing. It's been quite different from his brother!

And lately, he's really gotten an interest in the dogs and cats, trying to reach for them to pet them (or grab them). I moved some goat babies while wearing Aaron in a wrap (front, facing out - the only way he likes to ride!), and he put one arm over one of the goat baby's heads and grabbed an ear and held on. I wish I'd had a camera out there! He's also been diving for his favorite toys, like the bee that stays on the changing table (friend just gave it to us Friday).

Well, I guess that's a novel already, so I'll stop now. I'll try to read more often though!

esylvia - I am a teacher who went back in February. I cried all the way to work and into the building. Then I saw the faces of the kids who had missed me, some of whom have no mother in their lives, and it got a little bit easier. I would be lying if I told you that it was a piece of cake to not be home with her everyday. I believe that the work I do, and you do, is vital and makes a difference. Also, my mom was a teacher, and as a kid I loved that I had her to myself the WHOLE summer. None of my friends had that.

jchizever - I am in a mirror situation. My dad died 9 years ago and I miss him every day. DH's father is full of garbage advice and hurtful sayings: I should be feeding her Chinese food by now like they did DH and I am starving her by just giving her BM, I will roll over on her in my sleep and kill her, etc etc. I know my dad would have been so much kinder to me, and it does make it hard. Feel free to PM me and vent whenever you feel the need. Until then, hugs to you.

Emilyrose: I want to record the sound of him snorting cause it's so funny. He also pants when he see's my breast and tenses up, once he latches on he gives a big sigh and relaxes his whole body. My sister and mom got to see him do that today and they thought it was hilarious.

Anyone dealing with constant kicking and patting while nursing. Magnus kicks me constantly. I have bruises all over my legs. He's also pinching the tops of my arm and the backs of my arms when I hold him on my hip. I little bruises running down the back of my arm.

He's getting on his knees and rocking back and forth, he wants to crawl so bad and I'm not ready for it at all.

This age is such a joy I'm really loving it

My DD pats and caresses my breast while eating. She also pumps her fist - its funny.

The funniest thing happened this weekend - she was hungry and I went to get her from MIL and she got to my chin and latched on!! It was SO funny! Like she was going to get something out of it!

LOL Magnus latched onto my chin/mouth today while holding my face in his hands and starting sucking on me. I love it he's so sweet. He also has a circular rubbing motion he uses on my breast when he's nursing to sleep at night.

Oh, I am so glad someone mentioned this. Fiona pats me while she nurses, especially when she is getting close to emptying one breast and wanting to switch to the other. It reminds me of the old tv's and trying to get them to work by giving them a good thump!

I also have a spot on my arm where she likes to grab and press while nursing. Sometimes she is almost rough when she does it, which cracks me up.

Fiona is also notorious for latching onto chins, noses, cheeks - whatever she can get to on the way to my breast. Very cute. I call it baby kisses.

Have a great night everyone.
