Thanks for the hugs, mamas. Just a quick follow-up on our WBV. Little Yas gained a pound since her last visit. she's now 10lbs 13oz and 24 inches long. and no visit for 2 months. phew! i feel so relieved i've been able to ebf this time around.

Kimberley, I had supply issues with my first and really did struggle to boost my supply. She was sooo unhappy for 2 months, as was I. All the pumping and nursing around the clock and fenugreek, etc did not help. And I was far from being present for my little one and a good mommy. I was sad, but I finally surrended and went back to enjoying my babe and gave her whatever I could and did give some BM for nine months in all. I suppose I could've tried a medicine to boost my supply, but I didn't go that route. You do what you can and you are doing great!!

Meg, yeah some babies go as long as 5 days without pooping! pretty wild, but it's all normal.

Miriam is one day older than Simi, and your post just about describes her to a T. She's not rolling either, no interest in it, but loves to sit and stand (with support). I think this has something to do with the fact that she's hardly ever lying down on her back...mostly carried, held on laps, or in her swing. Mir's also laughing, but not very consistently either. And I haven't read your other posts about sleep, but I'm assuming you're not getting much, just like me! I've also read NCSS last week, did the logs, and came up with a sleep plan, which I started implementing a few days ago. So far, naps have extended to over an hour each (from 30-45 minutes in the past), but no other improvements yet...patience patience

To everyone else: HI! I haven't been very good at keeping up with these boards, in the process of selling our house and finishing up my school term. Hopefully I'll get to catch up on everyone else's posts soon, and participate more, because I sometimes feel isolated at home all by my lonesome (other than some social interaction IRL a few times per week).

Mama2Bean, my daughters birth was very powerful (and quick!) so I like thinking about that night also. She was born 11/30 at 11:31pm. She's very sweet and active and smiley! My boys are three, eight and twelve years old.

She's not rolling yet, but she wants to, you can see it in her eyes. lol We're currently working on weaning her from the swaddle since it's getting sooo hot here! She did great on her belly last night! She's fortunately getting over a very unfortunate ear infection and so her sleep is TOTALLY messed up. Does it ever go back to normal? Please say yes *yawn*

Hana can roll but chooses not to. We were getting concerned, but then found her opposite of how we had put her on the floor or in her crib a few times. I'm thinking it's not a fluke, she just doesn't want to show off. She's starting to get the hang of laughing, but it sounds almost like crying sometimes still. She can also sit pretty well now, but she recently found her toes so we're back to her falling on her face half the time, ah well, she doesn't seem to mind.

She's also really liking being worn on my back now this is a wonderful thing, before she hated it! She's getting a little to heavy for my front (all 14is lbs of her), but having her on my back is great. I walked for almost 2 hrs one day with her up there and we both had a great time.

Only issues right now are teething (since 9 wks!) and constipation. Any tips for a formula fed baby? She cries and screams every time she poops, it's so sad! and the Dr. just tells me to give her some prune juice.

Hey ladies! Our babes are growing so quickly! Landis (born 11/17) is getting big - 26 1/2" and 18 lbs at his 4 month apt. He loves singing and dancing around the room in my arms, taking walks in his sling and, of course, nursing 24/7. He is generally a happy, content baby, but the last few days he has been cranky - he wants to crawl NOW! He is getting up on all fours and can scoot backwards, but hasn't quite figured out going forwards... DH and I are betting on when he will start crawling forward. I am guessing Thurs. and he is guessing Sat. We'll see! :

I always lose the new threads in the new month. . Just caught up. Our 4 month wbv is this Friday... she'll be 4 1/2 months old but the ped only had 6 pm appointments on her 4 month old week.. what sort of sense does that make? Yes, please sign me up to have a very sleepy and partially cranky baby in the peds office right before she's supposed to go to bed in an hour. Um, no!

I measured and weighed my little (big) princess and last week she was 16 lbs and 25 1/2 in long. : My girl's big.

Simi did this for about a week, but the past two nights have been more normal. I was really worried one day last week b/c she woke every single hour from 1:00 until 7:30! Now she seems to back to only waking twice a night, but she's moved up her first wake up time. It used to be that she'd sleep until about 2:30 or 3:00, but now she's waking up at 1:30. Go figure! Really, my big sleep issues right now are with naps. I just can't seem to get her to nap long enough. :

I'll trade you - we went from four hours to maximum 2 hours, and pretty much waking every hour from midnight on. Going on three weeks now. I know, I've started a sleep log and am trying to gather enough brain cells to read some sleep books. She napped a whopping 2 1/2 hours COMBINED yesterday in five chunks, and completely disintegrated last night .

I'm pretty sure it's teething - or at least I'm hoping it is. We have the constant hand in the mouth, grabbing at the ear, and tiny teeth tips poking through.

Be careful what you wish for! Our naptime has also totally disintregrated and I am a sleep-deprived zombie...

We're also getting a lot of sucking/chewing on fingers, drooling, etc.

Well - now my DD is sleeping 6 hrs a night....

She's ABSOLUTELY adorable - full of smiles, totally present.

Does anyone elses babe follow a conversation - ie. turn his/her head when someone is speaking...I can't remember the others doing this!

Anyone giving their babe a cup? I was drinking a glass of water and had finished it and DD was looking at it. Out of curiousity, I handed it to DD to see if she knew what to do with it - she reached out her arms, grabbed it, and put it up to her mouth...WOW! It was empty, so nothing came out, though! So----is there any reason I can't give DD expressed breast milk in a KleenKanteen (we want to stay away from plastic so we invested in KleenKanteens and Sigg bottles!) with an Avent white soft spout???

twogreencars - I was just wondering the same thing about a cup myself. DD has been grabbing at my water glass lately too. At first I thought she was enjoying the way the light hit the water, but she does it at night too. I also let her see what she would do with a cup, and she brought it directly to her mouth. I almost feel like I am holding her back by not letting her try a sippy or some type of cup. I can't wait to see what everyone else says.

She had her 4 month check up last week, and was 15 and a half pounds and 25 inches long! I was thrilled, because I have been getting a little concerned about whether she gets enough to eat while I am away at work. Since that was a three lb gain in a month, I guess I will stop worrying so much about it.

Yay, we've been sprung!

Aubrey had her wbv on Tuesday. She's 14# 9oz, bigger than average, but smaller than most of the babies here! The doctor said she was perfect .

I went to the mall to buy Aubrey some summer clothes. I'd never been shopping for baby clothes there before, but I had a gift certificate, so I figured I should spend it. OH MY! The clothes were horrible, horrible, horrible. When did infants start dressing like mini-teenagers? Why are there so many bikinis for baby girls? Who thinks a baby needs a bikini top?

Where do you shop for baby?

I found a couple of old patterns at my mom's, so now I'm sewing her some rompers out of scrap fabric in protest!
