My dd grabs my water bottle too but I only let her get a little. It is soo cute her eyes get all big every time I try to drink water now...

My first post on the thread here was kind of small . . . can you add Owen to the list on 11-28? I think that would make 99.

Welcome Jess A and LoveOhm! Thanks for all the diaper replies - now I have an excuse to shop online.

Fiona likes to take my water bottle, water glass, and sip. It is super cute and she is very dainty about it. She is NOT dainty about spitting most of it back out and all over me! She is really reaching for our food and getting mad when I don't give it to her. We really feel we should wait until 6 months, but I don't know. She just seems so interested in food.

Hope you all have a great weekend.

I let ds drink a little sip of water out of my cup the other day. It was neat to see him drink from a cup so well. Yesterday was his 5 month mini-birthday!

Aaron grabbed my glass of water at dinner one night, so I let him drink. I too was amazed at how well he did! That was when he was just barely past 5 months old. Thursday, we were at a restaurant and he wanted my water yet again, so I let him try the straw, thinking he wouldn't figure it out. But he DID! He sucked up a bunch of water, then dribbled it all out! Joshua didn't learn a straw until MUCH later, so I was just not expecting it!

I did resist the urge to let him have a fry that he was trying so hard to reach for. I need to introduce alot more healthy foods before I go for the fries. LOL.

We got them pretty much just for traveling, so we've only used them a bit. We EC as well, so our experience may be a bit different. They're somewhere between pre-folds and disposies in terms of wetness and absorbancy. I think of them as pre-folds with extra thick tissue instead of a cloth diaper .

Still smoking! I think they'll be ready in about an hour. He's doing regular pork ribs and countrystyle ribs. He's trying out a new rub on the regular ribs. The countrystyle he isn't allowed to change, because they're already absolutely perfect!!

Damn! A mama goes back to work for a week, has no time for the internet, and returns to find like 3000 new posts!

So far going back to work hasn't been too bad. A loves going to her GM's and has been her same cheery self. I have converted the bathroom at work into my new office, however, since I seem to spend all of my time pumping...

I haven't even begun to think about feeding A yet, so I don't have any input there.

Salut et bienvenue a la petite Layla! Nos filles ont les memes anniversaires! (Je n'arrive pas a trouver les accents sur mon ordinateur! : )

I tried not to let DD get much of my water but it was like she KNEW...she just grabbed it and downed it, haha...she looked really pleased with herself too and got mad at me when I tried to drink some. Now I can't drink in front of her. She gets really mad when I eat too.

So here's a question, how many of you have short babies? DD was 20 inches at birth and is now 23...her head keeps getting bigger and she actually doesn't weigh very much at all, but she is starting to look kind of fat just because she's so short.

You know, I'm so pleased DD is not interested in food or drink yet! It's so refreshing! I can eat and drink to my little heart's content...she merely watches the glass or fork or spoon travel from the table to my mouth. She's not watching the food/drink - merely the glass or fork/spoon. I know - I tested it out yesterday at a restaurant - she followed the flying spoon! Also - I only have to deal w/ BF poopy diapers!

Nope - DD is long and lean here! Very tall and slender!

Yup, I also get 100. 99 on the list + Ruby.

CAUC -- same issue with the drinking and eating. I really, really, want to wait until 6 months, but I can't drink or eat or handle anything that looks like food when he's in arm's reach! So I'm thinking about it.

DS was also 20 inches at birth, but now he's 27.5. If I remember correctly, he hit 23 inches by 1 month -- made me feel really guilty that maybe something was wrong in utero that kept him from growing, because he was also a meconium baby! But he's not long-and-thin either -- all of his measurements hit within the same percentile band (about 85-90).

Oh, and all you mamas w/ CD advice -- I'm trying to soak it all in! Right now, CDing just isn't practical -- our apartment won't let us get a washing machine and the machine prices are astronomical. But I'd really like to CD with the next baby...who I find myself wishing for all the time. Am I crazy? I have a five month old and I keep sort of looking for pregnancy signs. What would I do with another baby so soon? I think DH would want me on bc, but I can't do it -- I'm not trying to get pregnant, but I can't stand the idea of making it impossible, you know what I mean? Am I the only one?

I, too, constantly find myself thinking about my next one. I even have names picked out. We're not really ready, though, so that's what I have to keep telling myself. I'd like to stay home with the next one, and that's not a possiblity right now, so I need to wait. Plus, I don't want to compromise my milk supply either. But I don't use BC, so you never know.

A poo question...

Ok everyone. Sorry if this is TMI, but I didn't know who else to ask. DD didn't poo for three days, and finally went last night. It was not runny, really, the way her normal BF poos are. It was more the consistency of peanut butter (sorry! I know! I know!) with thicker bits in it. All she has had that is different as far as I know are a few sips of my water. Any idea what could be causing this? The smell was horrid, by the way. Not her normal BF poo at all. Thanks for any help. I hate to call the pediatrician for every little thing. She wasn't upset during or afterward, although she had been a little cranky yesterday before she was able to go.

Back to the normal thread talk....

I too miss being pregnant. I have two friends that are pregnant right now, and part of it is wanting to be pregnant with them, I think. Also, I am finally starting to feel back to my original self. And since my original self had been consumed with getting pregnant for the past 4 years, that probably has something to do with it.

DD is also fascinated with all babies, especially babies smaller than she is.

So no, I don't think you are crazy in the least. I think it shows how much joy we have in our children, that we can imagine more of them.

I have absolutely no idea! Anyone else??? Could she have been a little dehydrated? Perhaps something in your diet?
