anyone else?
I dont feel better, I dont feel worse.
It's the 100mg caps (they didnt have the 50's in stock)..

could I be taking too much? is there such a thing? (I know you shouldnt take too much but wouldnt 100 be better than just 50?)

Do I have to be consistent with it over some period of time to see results? As far as I read/understood in the Mood Cure, you should feel some difference in minutes/hours.

Is it possible 100mg is too much?(which really doesnt make sense to me, but maybe someone could explain if this was the case)

I've changed my diet lots too. taking multivitamins, almost no sugar whatsoever, getting outside..and I still feel so down, i HATE this!! :'(
Like it's not hard enough to push yourself to do all these things while your depressed, to top it off you dont feel better

How long have you been taking it, and how many pills do you take a day?

I take 1 or 2 100 mg capsules each night. As a sleep aid, it works within an hour. As an antidepressant, it can take a few days to kick in fully.

I read that it's safe to take up to 300 mg a day (best to take it spaced out a bit- say one in the afternoon, one later in the evening, and one before bed, or one in the late afternoon and two before bed). The main advantage to the 50 mg capsules or tablets is that you can break up the dose more- you can try 150 for a few days before going to 200, or try 250 before going to 300.

My guess is that either you're not taking enough, or for some reason the 5-http doesn't work well with your body chemistry. I suggest trying higher doses, and if that still has no effect, try St John's Wort or tryptophan.

5-htp doesn't work for everybody. That was clear in the published research I read. It worked for me for about two days, and then I had a terrible reaction to it (it is possible to take too much, and it can be dangerous). I think the highest dosages I recall seeing in the research was 100 mg 3x/day.
