I thought the cause of pre-e was officially "unknown." Is it known that pre-e is caused by an abnormal placenta? I haven't heard this explanation before.
I had moderately elevated bp w/dd. It didn't turn into pre-e and I didn't need meds or anything. But b/c I had a bp issue, I'm always interested in this. FWIW, my placenta came out whole, and my doctor said it looked great - really healthy.

| Ms. Hanson- Parry had developed severe preeclampsia, a condition caused by an abnormal placenta. She underwent placental screening for two subsequent pregnancies. In both cases the results were normal. |
