Homebirth in Cambodia

to anyone who's been listening to my little adventures over here in asia...
The couple who invited me to come with my 4 yo DD to cambodia to attend their birth had a boy last night!
Actually 4:10am this morning, 2nd April, after 8 hours of intense labour - we started with 3 minute contractions, which were down to 2 minutes after the first hour (!).
but mama made little progress with pushing, despite our best efforts; turned out baby had his hand up in a fist next to his ear : and mama tore a bit...
but he's a big healthy boy, and mama is smiling and happy
anyway, it was a wonderful home birth, with no interventions (I didnt even do any cervical exams) and no medications other than homeopathic arnica.
Even my DD was a big help. giving the mama reiki, and being generally quiet and keeping herself out of the way, occasionally coming over to our side of the room to ask if we needed help; bringing cold cloths from the fridge, drinks, towels, etc.

Perhaps I'll put up more details later when I'm not so exhausted

so, all is well! and we are heading to australia in a couple of weeks
