Hello mamas!!

Summer is aproaching and as a new mama that has only recently learned about the compleate dangers in chemical sunscreen (I may be a bit behind, but I am well on my may to a more natural exhistance) I have been looking for a better alternative. A friend of mine suggested that anything with the active ingrediant of zinc oxide or titanium dioxide is the way to go. So I was wondering what you thougth of that.

And also, I found a place that just sells the powder straight, what do you think about just using the powder or how safe that would be for my dd

I am going to x-post this into life with a babe as well

Thanks!!

The sunscreen we use is made by Badger. It is 100% natural.

i just bought the burts bees spf 15. it smells divine, feels really smooth and non-greasy and has nothing in the ingredients that i don't recognize.

titanium dioxide is the active ingredient...

I make my own since I am allergic to most of what is out there. I purchased zinc oxide and some other colored oxides from a cosmetic supply company several years ago and I mix them to get a shade of powder that matches my complexion. I put this on with a good quality cosmetic brush. This actually makes a nice foundation, but it does not come off easily.

Okay, I did a TON of research on this last summer. Apparently, people are concerned about micronized titanium dioxide because there is preliminary evidence that it may cause cell mutation. Anyone know more?

So, I've been using zinc oxide-based sunscreens. And I think micronized zinc oxide may be under scrutiny, too? Does anybody know?
