progesterone and AF question

I was taking progesterone this month to correct a LPD. I started taking it at
4dpo. I tested on 14dpo and got a BFN and then again at 16dpo (another BFN) just to double check before I stopped taking the progesterone. However, at 16dpo I got AF (while still on progesterone). For some reason I didn't think I was suppose to get AF while I was taking it. Anyone have any experience with this?

The not so easy answer is that it can happen either way.

Some women will start while on progesterone and other won't. My dr wants me to stop 14DPO after I get a -HPT. He also said I can have a beta on 14DPO if I want to be sure there is no baby so that the quick stop of progesterone doesn't cause a m/c. In the very same breath he said "or stop if you get your period". So, my temps are still high this cycle and at 10DPO I got a neg HPT so I will test again on Easter Sunday and then ask for a beta on Monday and stop progesterone after confirmation of no pg, unless I get my period first in which case, I will immediately stop taking it.
