Such a fun thread!
From DS4: "Mommy, if we put Backyardigans on your iPod, can I watch it during church?"
DS13, at the time about 5 (so it wasn't 2007

), after being told that when I was a child, most people did not have cable TV, a microwave, a VCR or an answering machine, and cell phones, personal computers, video games, CDs, and DVDs did not even exist: "Jeez, Mom, did you at least have a car, or did you have to go on a wagon with horses like on Little House on the Prairie?"
DS13, to me, upon coming home from school 2 days ago: "Hey, dude. Wazzzup?"
DD11, just a few days ago: "Hey Mom, can I show my friends the pictures of the puppies on your blog, or should I put them on flickr?" (The answer was to put them on flickr; I don't think the elementary school librarian would be happy if kids spent their computer lab time reading my foul-mouthed rants!)

I remember asking my mom what it was like in the "olden days." But life has changed MUCH more between my and my children's generations than it did between my parents' and mine!
