You know it's 2007 when . . . - Page 2

When your 3 year old DD picks up the cell phone to look for the picture of who is calling...

When DD asks to see the picture as soon as it is taken...

When DD asks to watch a DVD in the car...

When your child sees a commercial and shouts out "Mommy, you need to fast forward"...

When you have to turn on the picture frame to see the pictures...

When the world goes to hell one day at a time.

When your 12 year old calls you from his friends cell phone to ask if he can go inside to play (and he is directly across the street).

When you child IM's you from the basement computer because he can't find his martial arts shirt in the dryer (I was at the top of the stairs and could have heard him talking in a normal voice).

When your kids friends are all confused that you don't have a game system or Tevo.

the baby saying, 'ith the page done loading YET?' with dsl- I want to say, why, when your sister was little, we had 2400 baud! You could wait six weeks and that picture wouldn't load! (my ds doesn't believe that when i was a kid, there was only black & white tv . And about 6 channels. And you had to GET UP to change it.)

Hehehe, when ours got rid of their card catalogue I snapped it up at auction. Fantastic for holding small random crap!

It's 2007 when my 7 year old looks at me and tells me I need to ask my Dr about Zomig for my mighty grains like the TV commercials..

It's also 2007 when at 2:00 in the am there is a program on about Green living (Green: the new red white and blue) instead of Roncos Set it and Forget it. So progress isn't always bad...

K, DD is obsessed with "our song" (Free Falling by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers), so whenever we are in my car, we listen to it almost constantly on my cd player.

Well, the other day, we got in my MOM'S car (who only has a tape player even though it's 6 years newer! ) and Free Falling was on the radio. So I said "Alivia! Listen, it's our song!" As soon as it was over, she says "I wanna listen to our song again!" (Like she does in my car.) It took several minutes for my mom AND I to convince her that there is no way to replay it since it was on the RADIO!!

When my little brother (4) knows more shortcut keys than I do.

one time he had to get a spoon from the kitchen, so he said "okay, Pause dinner. I will be right back"

The other day, dd was reading out loud to her daddy and announced: "I need to push pause and go to the potty."

When my 5yo asks "Mommy, what's a negative?" And I try to explain film cameras vs. digital cameras while he stares at me with a blank look on his face.

. . . when ds asks, on hearing a song on the radio, "tell dad to get this on my faves" (for the iPod).

. . . when your 6 yo's baby pictures are all printed from 'old school' film, and your 1 yo's are all on disk.

A couple of years ago I was explaining to my DDs that videos hadn't been invented when I was a child, and they said, "So you could only watch DVDs?"

Now I feel old because most of your kids won't even remember videos because they only have DVDs!

I was explaining to my 8 year old how to save a document of the computer by clicking the icon that looks likes a computer disc, and she was confused because she's never seen a computer disc. She asked, "Why didn't they make it look like a memory stick or a CD or something that people actually use?"
