Ditto that.

Also, I'm curious if you all send your articles to friends and family as well via email?

It's an idea!

Mine should be published soon. I accepted the offer and commented on yours and rated them!

I submitted another. Yay!

After some thought, I think I'm going to take that article that AC screwed me on and sell it over at CC. I just can't swallow $4 and change for something that I worked so hard on. I will probably change it, to make sure it fits in more with the CC guidelines, but AC isn't getting it. I'm just so annoyed.

I need to write something new. I doubt it will happen today. It's my birthday, and so far it's been a really crappy day. It's not even 8 am yet. I was up every hour and a half with the baby, then she woke up at 5:30 and wouldn't go back to sleep, then at 6 the fire alarm started going off for no good reason, then security came and turned it off, only to have it go off again 15 minutes later (turns out the sensor in the basement is screwy), but instead of disabling it they just silenced it again, so it went off AGAIN 15 minutes after that. Then my husband was complaining about how he was embarrassed to have security in here because the place is a mess (I worked my BUTT off yesterday, SO sorry that I don't have it Martha-clean in here), which I really didn't need to hear before 7 am, and now I'm waiting for the fire marshal to come and see what the deal is so it will stop doing that. My husband is also working until at least 9 pm tonight, and baby and I go to bed around 10 (I can MAYBE stay up til 11 at the latest), so I won't get to see him much today. It sucks. I want to go back to bed.

Queenbean...hopefully the day won't be too rough on you! And I agree...don't settle for an offer you aren't happy with, esp. if you think you might be able to sell it elsewhere!

Good luck!

Aww - Queenbean - I hate days like that and to have it happen on your b-day just sucks. I hope the day gets better for you. Good for you on deciding to take your article elsewhere! Happy Birthday!

wfuteach - I just checked out your articles! I'm going to try to guess which one was the $10 one. Tell me if I'm right - lol. Was it the one about products for stay at home moms?

Heather - I agree, you have to spill your secrets! You really have been on fire at AC lately. I knew your laptop review article would do well as soon as I saw it. I have an article at Suite about external hard drives that is doing extremely well. I think tech subjects are especially good as far as page views go.

I am always looking for new ways to promote, so this morning in the AC forums, I found a tip to use ineedhits.com. They have a free services link that will list your site on several different web search engines, so I entered my AC cp page and one of my suite articles. Anyone else use that?

I'm happy with my pv update. My Abreva article picked up another 350 hits just since the last update, so it's up to 3,400 now. I wish all my articles would do that well!

No! That got the lowest of the three, as a matter of fact! I was sort of surprised, too! It was the traveling in Yorkshire one. The only reason I can think is that there is absolutely nothing in AC about Yorkshire, and certainly nothing about traveling there with kids. Who knows?

Just goes to show you that I have no idea what AC likes the best!

I just figured out that I have to publish 20 more articles with AC in order to reach a level 7. I would like to do that by the end of September. I used to do 5 articles a week. I'll see if I can still pull it off - lol. Especially since I've got to write for Suite and Constant Content at the same time. Whew.

I use as many of the social bookmarking sites as possible and plan to have most of my articles listed with most of those sites eventually.

I occasionally blog and bulletin articles on my personal Myspace...

I occasionally blog an article in my personal journal.

I also have two themed blogs that I use.

I don't email friends or family but do sometimes post the links when talking to people online.

I go to Yahoo answers and answer questions, inserting a link to my article where I can.

On Facebook I post in communities, and if someone asks a question that I think an article could answer, I post it. I also have my RSS feed on there.

On other forums I post articles that could answer questions, but don't go there JUST to promote. Here on MDC I PM people asking if they'd like a link to any article I think could help them.

I post over at AC to help people and just chat in the forums, as well as read and comment articles written by others.

And I have my CP link EVERYWHERE on every profile for every thing I use.

I mostly think the social bookmarking and Facebook are to blame, as well as picking good topics. I spend the most time doing those things and have seen the most improvement since I started doing them.

Thanks for the tips, Heather!

Heather - Great tips! I like the social bookmarking sites too. I had a definite jump in page views when I started using those. Are you actively involved in any of them? I am starting to get involved at del.icio.us. I'm building a network (albiet slowly - lol). I may do the same at Furl and Digg.

Heather, thanks for the tips!

How long does it normally take after they make you an offer for they publish?

My offers were accepted Wednesday night my time, and published Thursday night my time. So, about 24 hours, that time at least.

Hrm. I guess I'll just wait!

I'm gonna start the September thread!
