Writing at Associated Content (Please Read & Follow Thread Rules) - Page 5

I have been slacking SOOOO much with my writing... I was doing 10 a week, but I haven't written anything since last Thursday. I have plenty of topics to write about, just no motivation and discipline.

I'm going to have to buckle down and write a bunch tomorrow! Neth, you're my new inspiration, since you have such lofty goals with your writing!

So I submitted it General News article and I will let you know what they say (probably in 2 weeks ). Just thought I would let you all know in case you were writing an article about a recall or something.

Well my ds is asleep so I am off to write some more.
about recalls, I wrote one about maytag dishwashers a month or so ago and another about front loading washers being recalled a couple of weeks ago. They accepted both as news and paid $5 for each. I have gotten over 1,000 page views on each of them which is higher than most of my other news articles.... anyway then I wrote one recently on the recalled infantino sling and it was rejected saying it's not a news-worthy recall SO I submitted it as a parenting article and got an offer for $7.03 so better then standard news. It's weird how they change what they accept.

I have had them decline three news stories once and they paid me 3, 5 and 5.77 when I submitted them as general articles.: I submitted a recall article yesterday and one on Saturday and received $5 for both so I don't know why today is different. : :

Sometimes I really have to wonder.

Gee, you'd think they'd care about product recalls, and that people WOULD view those things?

Maybe it's just about BIG product recalls, like contaminated dogfood and peanut better. I bet if you wrote one about that, things that affect a LOT of people, it'd get approved.
I'm new to AC and was just wondering if they paid for things like music and album reviews. I'm assuming it would depend upon the artist's popularity and how many views it would receive but not sure about this.

Hi persephone! I am not sure if they pay much for things like music and album reviews. I know a while ago, they had an offer out for $15 for reviews of local bands, but I know that has expired. But, I'm sure they would still pay something for local band reviews. The only way to know if they pay for music reviews is to give it a try.

I'm envious of those of you that have 1,000 or more page views for certain articles! I'm still trying to find something that will hit that. Speaking of page views, we should be due for another update on our counters, don't ya think?

I don't do many reviews but I'd be willing to be it'd depend on the item. I'd wait for a content special offer if I were you. They have minimum payments of $8-10.

I have a new piece on cloth diapering up, what I love about it and all. They gave me $6.53 which is decent. I wrote two other articles in this series, and they both got higher offers though. So I'm wondering if maybe the bonus program IS equalling lower offers.
I just got my bonus payment today, I'm happy I went to check paypal for $ for published articles and saw I got an extra $24 (page viewss from both feb and march) yay! I'm going to buy some new diaper covers tomorrow

Heather, I'll have to check out your CD articles, I had written a series of 3 several months ago. I don't remember what they paid but it was when I first started.

Well Heather I wrote one about a vehicle that was getting recalled and they accepted that. Why a car recall is more important than a toy recall though, I am not sure.

Welcome!

I am not sure about the reviews to be honest. If you do, or when you do, have some published work pm me a link to your Content Page.

I was just reading on the AC forums that offers for book and CD reviews are typically low. But if you can fire them off quickly, and figure it's more $ than you had before, it might be worth a shot.

I need to figure out how to increase page views too, I only have two articles published so far but would like to at least get some views...

I am sure that you are getting page views, sometimes it takes AC a while to update them though, don't be discouraged if you are still at 0.

I wrote a news article yesterday about how women in India are being told that they must report their menstrual cycles to the government if they are civil servants and it got published right away! I'm amazed and super happy at this although I did spend a few hours watching the news feeds come in and tried to put my own spin on the story and so I don't think I'll be doing this often as it takes a lot of time. But I did get the full $5 for my first published article so I can't complain. Woohoo!!

Velcromom - Can you send me a private message with a link to your AC articles? Then I can read them. Page views only get updated once a week, at best. I'm sure your articles have gotten some. I think we are due for an update any day now.

Persephone - We can't post direct links to our articles here. Our last AC thread got shut down for that reason. I subscribed to you on AC. The best way to get us all to read your articles is to pm someone with your link when they ask. I think most of us will ask - lol. I loved your article, by the way. I left you a comment.

Thanks twocoolboys, this is what happens when I'm too busy writing to read the thread rules. I just deleted the link and won't be making that mistake again.

My product reviews just went up, two on CDs, one on a cam. I also put up a silly song about CD washing. I'm on a role with the CD articles lol.

I wish they'd update the page views. I know I have a lot and would like to see what my bonus is. Plus my clout should go up to 7 really soon, and I'm excited about that for some reason!

I'm really angry about the low-ball offers I've been getting lately. Maybe it's time to try another group, like Helium.
OK - so the whole reason they gave for only offering $3.86 for my Breastfeeding During Pregnancy Article was that there wastoo much content on AC and online about the topic. This was after tweaking it and resubmitting it. I accepted but then just now I did a search on the topic and came up with 12 whole results, two of which were my own article and my content page.

The whole reason I wrote it is because there is not a whole lot out there on the topic an its an issue that concerns me right now.

So I went to the "contact us" section and emailed a complaint. What else can I do to protest this? It really bothers me that the editor didn't bother reading beyond the word "breastfeeding."

I put up a new sarcastic/humorous piece about procecting yourself from downraters.

alisaterry, you'd think an article about that would be worth more, because there isn't a WHOLE lot about that on AC. :/ I think writing a complaint would be enough. Yu can also post on the message boards to see what others think. Sometimes taht says the admins.
