Sushi. No sushi for nine months! The sacrifices we make for our kids.

Add me to the list of those who would eat whatever they put in front of me. I was STARVED, and I didn't even go without food for a very long time, nor did I deliver vaginally, so I think being so hungry must have something to do with hormones after birth as well.

After my first section, I had an ice cream sandwich and a coke that evening, then they finally brought me a breakfast tray the next morning (20 hours after surgery). I INHALED everything on it...except for the powdered eggs. I guess there are some things I still wouldn't eat. LOL

After my second section, I didn't wait til they brought me food. DH got me fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and a slice of pizza. He thought he'd eat whatever I didn't want. He had to go back for something else to feed himself after I inhaled all of that and wanted more. That was about 3-4 hours after surgery.

After my third section, I had a cheeseburger about 4 hours later. Wanted about three more. Then DH brought me pancakes, sausage, and OJ for breakfast the next morning. Plus I ate the breakfast they brought me.

I wanted chocolate pretzels and Orangina... and since I threw up about every 15 mins for 32 hours of labor, lots of ginger ale.

The hospital food wasn't great, but DH brought me some stew and mac and cheese from Whole Foods down the street - it was awesome!! We ate from the Whole Foods deli for 2 and a half days!!

ANYTHING. I remember being absolutely RAVENOUS after giving birth, both times. For some reason, everything tastes a little different when I'm pregnant, and it feels like my taste buds return the minute the baby is out.

With my boys, I ate chocolate chip pancakes.

With my girl, I ate cereal.

no appetite but was encouraged to eat. but I had horrible nausea from after-cramping so that was probably why.

hot, greasy pizza. that's it. I wouldn't settle for anything else. My brother left the hospital to go get some for me!

CAKE!!! We always have a birthday cake ready in the deep freeze and I take it out when I know I'm in labour so I get yummy cake right away. That and a nice protien smoothie after all that hard work!

I don't know if it's what I craved, but the hospital brought me a huge breakfast with scrambled eggs, bacon, bagel with cream cheese, the works. I'd never had something so delicious in my entire life (DH swears it wasn't that tasty, he said it was typical hospital food, but I disagree).

Since then (20 months ago), I haven't been able to get enough of scrambled eggs. I swear it's one of my new favorite foods. That's definitely what I'm asking for after having this baby!

I wanted everything in sight! But after awhile I had a strong craving for yogourt.

Both times, I've really wanted hamburgers. I usually find I feel like I'm starving for at least 2-3 days.

ANYTHING! I was so hungry, I would have eaten anything put in front of me!

Oatmeal, both times - with cinnamon, brown sugar, & milk.

. . . It was heavenly.

Cheese pizza from a certain place. I normally don't even like cheese pizza. Go figure.

I was starving too.
DH made me toasts with peanut butter from the hospital's pantry. Then my MIL brought me toasted bagels with tons of cream cheese and an iced cappuccino. Hospital breakfast came, I ate most of it, was still starving, but can't remember what was in the tray... After that my husband went home to change and have a shower and he came back with a big order of sashimi. It was sooooo good! And a little bit later it was pizza from the cafeteria. All in the first 7-8 hours following the birth. Just remembering about it and it makes me feels hungry again!

I didn't care, as long as it wasn't moving!

I had DD at 11:37 pm, so everything was closed up, but they had a little boxed meal with chips, a turkey on white sandwich, and apple juice. Not things I usually eat, but it was positively delicious.
